AFL – Late November: AFL Draft

The 2025 AFL Draft is scheduled to take place in November 2025 at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne. While the exact dates have not been officially announced, the draft typically occurs in late November, following the conclusion of the AFL season. For instance, the 2024 AFL Draft was conducted over two nights, with the first round on Wednesday, November 20, and the remaining rounds on Thursday, November 21.
The draft process includes the National Draft, where clubs select new talent, followed by the Rookie Draft. In previous years, the Rookie Draft has been held shortly after the National Draft. For example, in 2024, the Rookie Draft took place on Friday, November 22.
Prospective draftees are required to nominate within specified periods. For the 2024 AFL Draft, nominations opened on October 7, 2024, and closed on November 13, 2024.
